Wink Limited Budget PC

My AMD Athlon 64 3800+ and Nvidia 8400 GS 512MB just ain't good enough especially with the Motherboard I have.
I'm looking to build a PC that can be used to play games such as...
  • Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
  • Half-Life 2: Episode 2
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Fallout 3
  • etc
  • etc
Not necessarily on high resolutions, maybe around 1280x768 on High.
Budget - Around $200-$500.
Really depends how much I have during the holidays.
(You can, if you really want to, do a complete build meaning case and everything else. Just around the max budget as well.)
Don't worry about the case or HDD.
Just the Motherboard, CPU, & GPU.
I have a 300W Power Supply so that may need to be upgraded depending on the parts.

I'd prefer AMD and Nvidia.

A 4850 would easily max those out at 1024x768

You most likely need a new psu, though

Would the motherboard effect how the GPU runs since the PCI-E Slot runs at X8 and no X16

In your case it wouldn't matter.
