I have a tuniq tower and q6600 at 3ghz and my temps seem to be very high unlike the pics I have seen of others overclocks. It is stable after 12 hours of prime95 with a max temp in the 50s. I bsod sometimes in games and I think it is due to overheating since I am on a fresh install of windows vista. I have remounted my tuniq twice and use artic silver 5, I used their guide on their site on how to properly install it. I also have the stock fan set at max speed, room temps are chilly and airflow is good.

Either that, or both the Tuniq Tower and the Q6600 need to be lapped.

I set it to 90 and they dropped massively, could you explain how this works? Were my temps really at 43, 39, 35, 38 or were they just showing 10 higher than what they really are?

Based on the temperatures you were seeing before, I would say that 90°C is a much more accurate Tj. Max for this particular Q6600. Perhaps even 95°C, or somewhere between 90 and 95°C. But, the best thing I can do is direct you to Real Temp's Installation & Calibration page which is an extremely valuable resource and which will enable you to get the most accurate readings possible. Granted, you'll never be able to have 100% accurate readings due to the very nature of the Core2 CPUs, but you can get much closer to it.
