Default $300 upgrade

Thinking about upgrading the rig that is in my sig. I have a $300 budget. Most of my gaming is now done on the xbox 360. The only game I play on my PC is WoW and that is until BF3 or something like that comes out.

Opinions?

how much memory?

I know I'll be in the minority, but even my son's E2180 + 8800 gts g80 plays everything I have great.

If I were you, I'd get a larger monitor or maybe raid 0. and x64 vista/win7 + ram helps also

My thinking is that an SSD is the most noticeable increase in performance you can get if you're not gaming, and not doing a major overhaul.

Grab a nice indilux controlled SSD, and then pick up another stick of ram so that you're running in dual channel mode. I'm assuming you're running 3x1GB right now.

For 300$ you could get a larger monitor about 22" or 23"
but then your 8800gt wont be able to max out some games on such a high resolution..
So go with ATI 5770 dx11 card

dude 320GB is fine... why does everyone think they need a 1TB HDD or 2 500GB hard drives setup in raid 0? it's just not necessary
