Default trying to decide what to put in my build

OK i have a 800$ budget i am going to keep this comp for a while(5 years) I am building at the start of next year and i was thinking to myself go for Phenom II which is cheaper or I7 which is more expensive or a dual core but that would likely be changed out in a few years, i do not want a huge hard drive i was thinking in the 160gb range, i want a good cooling system, i am not sure on the graphics card, i want a 64 bit OS, i definitely want ddr3 ram i was thinking 6-8gb but i will probably settle for 4, and finally i want a case that is impressive to look at

Hitting 3.8 was easy, getting a stable 4.0 ghz, that will be a challenge!

That Antec psu will allow for crossfire 5770 in the future and is more reliable than ocz.

ddr2 is now pretty pricey, due to supply and demand.

ddr3 is cheaper than it used to be. Just stick with ddr3

the reason i asked is because ddr2 mobos are cheaper, by about 50$ and i can find some ddr2 ram, about 3gbs, around my house and i was wondering

1 would ddr2 ram be cheaper(you said no so i will go with that

2 would ddr2 hurt the performance(unanswered)

ddr2 is way more then ddr3 now. No reason to get ddr2 if you can get ddr3, although the performance gains between the 2 are really minimal
