Hello Overclock.net

My computer is linked up to the internet through a network hub which links to a router which is linked up to a surfboard modem:

The wires used to connect the network is about 10 years old.

Is this affecting my internet connection?

Connect a PC directly to the cable modem (with a new cable preferably...) and see how the connection speed is. That will be a quick and easy way to rule out every single problem in between and save you a lot of trouble if your internet is just crap.

Don't leave it like that though... that's generally not terribly 'secure'.

Wait check if you are using a Network Switch OR a Network Hub, if it is a HUB you should replace it with a switch.

To post an image, you need to first host it on a website. OCN allows uploads of images that are .bmp, .jpg, and .png.

Second off, the cabling could be affecting the network, or, the fact that you have a hub on the network could also be causing some congestion. As it doesn't do any smart thinking. It just relays the frame.

Third off, I don't quite understand why this was posted in General CPU Discussion.
