Selling your stuff and going i7 would be an interesting option, but would be rather useless for gaming, which brings me on to my next point...
Why not another HD4890 for CrossFire? 4890s in CrossFire actually beat a HD5870 in ALL benchmarks, so that's something to definitely consider. And yes, your PSU could support it. That'd set you back about £140, leaving £160 to spend. You've got nice RAM, so there's not much improvement to be made there. An SSD would be nice, they're ridiculously fast, but expensive, you can afford it though. I don't know much about them, so I am fearful to give advice on one, in case it is wrong/misguiding. The only thing that really strikes out for an upgrade, to me, is your case. Something like an Antec 300 can be had for cheap, and would add a touch of class to your rig, as well as improving your system's general temps. Just a few things to consider. ![]()

Unless you're after a lot of CPU grunt for encoding, I'd say that a 58x0 and a fast SSD would be a better purchase than a Core i7 system.
Or a GT300 & SSD if you wait for GT300 to be released (and dependent on pricing of it, too...)

Ok thanks for both your comments, especially meticadpa
. Really helpful. I dont think im going to upgrade my case yet, as there will obviously be no performance gain and it looks ok actually and temps seem decent Stop dissing my case! lolEDIT: Ok meticadpa you got me looking at cases and the antec 1200 looks sooo sexy I have to get that case.I was thinking about another 4890, but i dunno im not too sure. I think i'd prefer a dx11 card instead but its definatly something ill consider now Crossfire 4890's beating a 5870, thats actually quite good as it will also be saving me around £100.Also, about SS drives. Does anyone who has a SS drive believe the hefty price tag is worth the speed gain over a normal HDD. If i was to get one it would only be a small size so enough for the OS and some other bits and bobs.

Here's one for 303 GBP. http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...facturer_id=0# 4890 in Crossfire is going to be hot and consume a lot of power.

Yes i think i would prefer a 58XX series instead of crossfire 4890, so then im set for dx11 and eyefinity in the future if needed. Also with it being 1 card instead of 2 is always a benefit. Maybe i might go for a 5850 as from what i have seen it isn't too far behind the 5870 (~10-15% maybe?) so it doesn't seem worth it considering it is 50% more price for only around ~10% performance.
If i needed more gpu power in the future i could still add another 5850 if needs be. EDIT: Ahh guess ill just leave this until december time and make a decision then. Save up some money, see how much i have and how much stuff is then and ask this same question in a few months time Thanks anyway

BUMP - Ok i've been thinking and pretty much got my mind set up on the antec 1200 case and a 5850 at christmas time (unless nvidia 300 series catches my eye before i buy 5850). Ill worry about after christmas later

Ok i changed my mind again...
I'm gonna get another 4890 to CF my current one. Wait until after christmas until Nvidias 300 series gets properly onto the market and see where it stands, along with the drivers maturing and everything else. Then i can worry about getting onto dx11 after that. At christmas i will probably get a new case (antec 1200) and then i dont know what else. EDIT: Ok 2 minutes after i wrote this im already doubting my decision. I dont know if to get a 4890 now and probs go dx 11 middle of next year. Or try finding a 5850 get one and then another a little later like dec/jan
