Default Upgrading my current system

Well the specs are in the signature.
It's a basic computer and I was wondering what I could/should upgrade.

I was thinking of getting a 9-Series Nvidia GPU and I was wondering if the current motherboard I have would effect the performance of the video card since the PCI-e runs at X8 and not X16.

As for the PSU I guess I could just simply upgrade that to a 500w.

(If no new Mobo is recommended) The Motherboard is obviously a AMD motherboard so what kind of CPU should I get? Or could I just get a different motherboard to OC this one (AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.41GHz) (would it be worth it)?

I live in California so anything from Newegg or Tigerdirect/Compusa would be okay. Any other sites as well.

Im not an AMD enthusiast/Pro but these are the things you need to upgrade because you cant really overclock on that board other then changing a few values

Motherboard-Not really overclockable

CPU-A bit old 2005 not a good overclock

PSU-Not enough to power a VC

And I dont think you can run a PCI-EX VC with an 8x slot not enough pins in it.
It would be best to get all those new things because if you found a board for that CPU it would more than likely be quite old and that CPU isnt what I would call overclocking material really max I ever saw someone overclock it to was 2.7 Ghz. Also if you kept that CPU and got a new GPU it would bottleneck in some games

TBH I think it's worth saving your money and getting an entirely new system. Even if you managed to OC that processor as far as possible, it would still fall behind an OC'd e5200.

However, if you must upgrade that system, a gts250 (9800gtx+) and an adequate power supply should let you play games at 1024x768 w/ mediocre settings

Alright, I'll just build a new PC then.

Anyone know any good places to look?
Besides NewEgg and CompUsa/TigerDirect?

and what companies should I go with? ATI, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Rosewill, Thermaltake etc
