Hi All, I need help in Overclocking my Rig with my current spec:
__________________Asrock Motherboard G31M-VS Intel E6300@1.86 Visipro 2x1gb PC5300 1024MB/333Mhz (DDR II 667) Ati Radeon 4670 512mb Gfx I have a problem with overclocking. I have only succeeded in changing Cpu Frequency to 299 which now appears to be running at 2.09 Mhz. I have tried to go beyond this however I have failed. It seems to revert back to 1.86 all the time. I have tried to change the memory timing to 5-5-5-15. Still no luck. Please help to me to attain the best stable speed for this processor as I understand that chip is very ocable. In my bios has these settings: CPU Configuration. Overclock Mode: Auto, CPU-PCIE Sync, CPU-PCIE ASync, Optimized CPU Frequency: I put at 299 PCIE Frequency: 100 Ratio Actual Value: 7 (Greyed out) Ratio CMOSS Setting: 7 (Can be changed to 6 or 7) Advanced Settings. Memory Remap: Auto, Enable, Disabled (On Auto) Dram Frequency: Auto, 438Mhz (DDRII 876), 526Mhz (DDRII 1052) Dram tCL: Auto (Changeable) Dram tRCD: Auto (Changeable) Dram tRP: Auto (Changeable) Dram tRAS: Auto (Changeable) Dram Voltage: Auto, 1.794v,1.851v,1.908v,1.965v,2.029v,2.086v,2.144v,2 .201v (Auto) NB Voltage: Auto, 1.272v,1.319v (Auto) VT Voltage: Auto, 1.10v, 1.20v, 1.37v, 1.46v (Auto) +1.5v Voltage: Auto, 1.5125v, 1.5651v (Auto) I do not know much about changing the voltage. Therefore I have started with auto. Would someone please shed some light on how I should proceed? I have tried other cpu frequency like 333, but it reverts back, so i figured its not acceptable. Any help would be great. Thank you in Advance. ![]() Below is the screen capture of cpu-z. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bloozed/4056327564/

First and foremost: Welcome to OCN!
__________________The simplest way to start out. Get your PC back to its standard speed 1.86ghz i believe you said. Set the voltage manually to what the Automatic setting places it at. Then, keep raising your FSB in small increments (5-10mhz). When it won't boot, go into your bios, raise the vcore 1 notch. Try booting again. Keep inching it upwards. The highest you'll realistically be able to hit is 2.33GHz due to the limitations of your RAM (333MHz FSB) However, rather than listing your information as you did (system specs) start by entering your system information... Here. Hope that helps a little bit, and good luck! Feel free to ask more questions as you get stuck. ![]() - Danny

Hi and WOW, what a quick reply. I apologize if I made a mistake. Didn't know we have to start by entering system information. I should really read the rules.

Perhaps someone with an ASrock could step in here... but I'm thinking it should be your VT Voltage.
__________________DRAM = RAM voltage (auto should do you fine, you're not overclocking. However, you can manually set base on the specs of your RAM if you so choose) NB Voltage = your HDDs and various other cards. 1.5v Voltage I don't think would be it either... If you look next to your VT voltage, it should say Auto and then have a number in there (1.2) or something near that number. If so, that should be it. Perhaps a camera shot of your BIOS screen would be of assistance ![]() - Danny

Hi Again and thanks for the reply. I have tried playing around abit with settings but still I couldn't figure out. It seems like anything above 2.09Mhz will still revert back. *sigh* Anyways, here's some pictures of the bios, hope this will help. Thank you.

Internal Graphics Mode Select... Disable that. You're running the Radeon 4670... not the internal graphics card. That may help a bit...
__________________I believe you'd want to play with the VTT... First though... I'd turn the Internal Graphics Mode Select to off, use your PCI card, and then try jumping that FSB over that threshold once more... - Danny
