Default Laptop overclock stable but too hot. What to do?

EDIT: It may be that the fan is not working. Whenever you start a processor-intensive task, the laptop makes kind of a whooshing a noise, which I always interpreted as the fan blowing. However, today I held my fingers, strip of paper, and a lighter flame next to the fan grill, and don't feel/see anything. Am I right about that noise? How do you know/test if the fan is working? Speedfan doesn't recognize my fan (maybe because it can't detect my fan?).

Hi everyone,

I just started my first OC project. I had a Sonoma laptop with Celeron M. When I found a Dothan 100Mhz Pentium M 1.5 (715) processor, I put it in my laptop and did the BSEL mod. It boots fine, and seems to work fine for most tasks, but the temps are really high, with 70C at idle, and going to 100C (maybe further, I just didn't risk it) under stress. I decided not to test with Prime95. It also shuts down during memtest86, don't know why.

I think I did a better than average job of cleaning the components, then applied AS5 and made sure there is firm contact with the heatsink.

What can I do now? It's not like I can buy an aftermarket HS and big fans like with desktops. Did I get an un-OC-able chip here? Do a better cleaning job? Not enough thermal paste?

Usually people do not reccomend OCing laptops, since they already generate heat but a OC will generate even more heat. The only thing I'd try is to get a laptop cooling pad. It should be able to cool it down a little.
