Default I have about $2200 what should I get?

I have about $2200, but I'm not sure if I should build a system now, or if I should wait until all the new video cards and processors come out in 6 months (more or less). Here's what I've designed right now.

I have a spreadsheet, let me know if either system is good. Thanks. Suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you.

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 32mb cache x2
I7 920
Windows 7 pro 64bit/AsRock x58 extreme
Liteon Ihos Blue Ray Drive
Samsung DVD Burner
Rosewill Fort 120 and Thermal
OCZ Gold OCZ3P1333LV12GS
Best monitor for 149.99
Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse
CoolerMaster HAF932 Case and 900W PS
2 X 5870
Price = 2195

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 32mb cache x2
Liteon Ihos Blue Ray Drive
Samsung DVD Burner
Zalman 9700
Best monitor for 149.99
AMD 955/MSI 790FX-GD70
G Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ x2
Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse
Rosewill RCX-TC060 Thermal Compound
CoolerMaster HAF932 Case and 900W PS
Video Card (5870 right now) x 2
2021= Total Price

But should I wait till Thuban and i9? Nvidia 300?

I don't feel like opening the file, but you should definitely get an i7 920 and a few ati 5870s

Welcome to the forums.

I'd suggest listing your proposed parts in your post, not in an Excel file, as those of us without Excel or an .xls reader won't be much help.

The 640GB WD Caviar Black is a little faster than the 500GB. The platters are denser, and since it rotates at the same speed, it can read more data with each revolution.

Also, unless your Blu-Ray drive is special, you can probably get a Blu-Ray reader/DVD Burner combo. If you do, remember that the cheaper packages don't always actually come with a license for the Blu-Ray software that is required to actually play movies.

Edit: Ah, I see what you did there. Looks like it's cheaper to get them separately. Nice.

Yeah it's almost the same price anyway. I'll upgrade that.

Not to nitpick, but do you mean the Coolermaster HAF 932, instead of 232?

You can always get better stuff by waiting, and you'll always sort of regret that you didn't. What sort of computer do you have now? How much of an upgrade is this going to be?
