Have any of you had any luck trying to get Tiger Direct to match NewEggs price on comparable products? I went in a store in Raleigh last night and they had a Radeon 4870 for $247 and I straight up told the guy that was too much for that card.

After talking with him he seemed to think about dropping the price. I'm building a system for a friend and he's super conscious about keeping the price under 500. If they match newegg and get it under 500 I'll do business with them. Otherwise I'll pay the extra 15 bucks for shipping and just get the case from there.

4670 for $247 ? Wow i would never shop @ a store that has such high prices like that.

it was a 4870...it was a typo when I first posted but fixed it shortly after.

And they had a 4850 priced at 144...I told him no thanx between 100 and 110 is what the card is worth

Still so expensive, i got my 2 OB 4890s CF from Newegg for like $270 total

Yea...like i said in OP I'd do business with them if they'll come close to matching newegg, otherwise they can stuff it and I'll tell them a few things. Last night the salesman was so excited trying to sell an 8400gs as a budget gaming card. I walked by and said " the 9500gt is on sale for cheaper and it's better"
