I ran this exact chip for a number of years, and I hit a max stable OC of 2265MHz after quite a bit of work. However I was limited by my terrible VIA mobo, you should be able to go higher if you can get into the BIOS.

Make sure you have good cooling on this, because mine was VERY hot. It would load at 64c at stock speeds and voltage. I managed to get that down to 39c load with a new HSF (3900 RPM monster) and a wintery cold room.

To get to 2.4GHz, you'll need to raise the fsb, lower the memory divider, make sure that the PCI-e (agp?) speed is locked, and possibly increase the vdimm.

Good luck

somebody an idea left?

Cheers! (THANKS FOR HELPING ME GUYS)
You could have a jumper on your board where you can set your FSB higher. The older boards had those and they were the only way to OC them. Look out for a manual or try looking for some jumpers on the board. Apparently your board does not have any settings for changing FSB or VCore in BIOS which is a shame

Edit: The manual didnt give any clue on finding a jumper for changing FSB but you should take a look into the mobo itself.

PCI-E on Socket-A mobo, not likely

You're right, that was a "mental error" on my part. Thanks for the catch

Either way though, unless you can lock down your AGP speed, then you'll have a way to keep that from getting over the stock speeds. This is because the PCI bus is also connected to the HDD's, which can cause corruption, as well as the fact that video cards never seem to like it either.

My mobo had a ram-esque divider that did PCI-AGP speeds that I needed to lower before I could get more than 2.2GHz out of it.

Good luck

Sorry bud, you'll never get 2.4Ghz out of a 2600+ Maybe if it was a mobile edition on a great motherboard but not out of that system.

Here's the lowdown on what you have.

The A7V8X-LA isn't an OC'ing board for starters. It was meant to go in a pre-built system and being as such, it has no options for anything related to tweaking. The only A7 type board that has BIOS options and Dual-Channel support are the A7N8X Deluxe 1.04, A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 and the A7N8X-E. All three of these are NF2 chipped boards indicated by the "N" in the model name. All other variants regardless of chipset used either don't clock so well or simply don't have any options in the BIOS for tweaking.

Out of the three that do support DC operation of you RAM, the A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 isn't a great clocker compared to the other two examples named above. The -E variant is the most desirable since it has SATA connections, the Deluxe 2.0 doesn't have it but is identical otherwise and both of these clock about the same relative to one another.

If you want to get one of these, the Deluxe 2.0 and the -E are the ones to get. Either of these boards should be capable of letting the 2600 get to at least 2.5GHz or better but that also depends on your particular CPU's ability to OC. If you want a different board for it, go for an Abit NF7 v 2.0 /NF7-S v 2.0 or AN7 - The 2.0 versions of the NF7/NF7-S boards being the ones to get. The 1.0 versions of the NF7's aren't that good.
AN7's only came in one version so any AN7 you get will be the same version as any other and that's the good thing about these.

You could also find a DFI LanParty Ultra B or an DFI Ultra Infinity, the LanParty being the best overall of these.
Only one catch to getting a LanParty Ultra B board - Finding one.
