Default New $500 budget cpu, what do you recommend?

I will be building a new budget cpu, was wondering what you guys had to recommend. I won't need too much storage i am turning my old computer into a file server.

Oh, you want to build a pc, alright. I was thinking you were talking about the processor and I was like, dang man, I wouldn't consider that budget... lol Do you have anything you can save like the case or power supply or ram or something, or do you need to whole thing?
