Question Memory (Best bang for the buck)

I've been dealing with AM2+ and AM3 cores a lot recently and I like Corsair and OCZ a lot. But I've heard that quite of number of you use G. Skill. What's the best for Gaming purposes?

Gaming isn't affected by ram as much as other things (i.e. processor, video card). When building a gaming computer, you want ram that is known to be stable with low timings per speed. Really, any reputable brand makes great ram at low timings for great prices. Brands I would recommend are Corsair and G-Skill.

Honeslty, if you're wanting great overclocking RAM it just depends. If we're talking DDR2, you definitely want the OCZ Blade Low Voltage DDR2 1200Mhz RAM. It's the best DDR2 RAM available. Now if we're talking DDR3, I'm not too sure but I know you'll want some of the 1.65v DDR3 1600Mhz or better. But make sure you get tight timings. For DDR2, 4-4-4-12 or lower is fantastic.

Right right, but without proper RAM, the cpu and gpu are just a boat with an engine and no gas.

How about Patriot, are they any good?

You can not go wrong with G.Skill! I have been using them ever since 2003 in about 8 personal builds.
I have overclocked their sticks to hell and back, burnt up sticks, even had burn marks on the HS itself and they send new ones right back to you within 2 weeks total shipping.
Best lifetime warranty ever!
Get G.Skill!

When Patriot first released their DDR2 1066 4-4-4-12 RAM, they could clock over 1200Mhz easily but now, you'll be lucky to push them over 1100Mhz. If you can find them at 1066 4-4-4-12 and they are cheap, go with it.

GEIL used to make fantastic RAM for clocking but I haven't heard anything about their DDR3 RAM sticks.
G. Skill makes some okay sticks. I've not been able to run my 1066 past 1100Mhz though with instability but maybe I just got a bad batch
A-Data makes some pretty good overclockers for cheap RAM. I've got some DDR2 800 A-DATA running at DDR2 1066Mhz with just a bump in voltage from 1.9 to 2.0

Overclocking your ram won't increase performance in any way noticeable. Maybe just a little increase in benchmarking? So long as you stick with a reputable company and sticks that are compatible with your motherboard, you'll be just fine.

Having more memory would be better than having faster memory. If you've got cash to burn, look to upgrade in other areas.
