Default Mild build need some input

so im building my friends father a new computer and he needs it for his car dealership. i guess what he told me is that he needs a computer that is more up to date than his 8 year old computer that sits in his office lol. the limit is ~500. i want to make sure he can fiddle around with photoshop too since he likes to do that stuff for his band in his spare time.

my question is should i go intel or amd?

any thoughts are very appreciated
thanks in advance.

A MB with the 4200 OB series GPU should suffice with at lease 2x2g of RAM.
Any good inexpensive dual core CPU too...

MB, about $60-70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...e=&srchInDesc=

CPU $30-50

I'd dig deeper but what exactly do you need?
Case, PS, HS, CD/DVD drive, HDD, OS, RAM....

BTW, unless you go with a GPU card, the ATI4200 is a very good choice for a dedicated OB GPU. It can also crossfire with an add on 4xxx video card later for upgrade ability.

Phenom II should be called Ph II, not a P II because it isn't an old Intel

Case/PS and I only recommend Antec in this Combo.
BTW I have that case/PS running one of my systems.
With the below, remove the previous PS recommendation.
Antec Sonata III w/500W Earthwatts PS $110 free shipping.

The Gigabyte MB in the combo has an ATI4200 iGPU that can be CrossFireX with another ATI 4xxx series card for even more GPU power.

I screwed up and listed DDR3 RAM
I'll correct that in the previous reply

Corrected and about $8 less too

Since you don't need the OS, you could CrossFireX with a 4770 for about $110
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...e=&srchInDesc=

Those two GPUs should do the video edit bit rather well for the overall cost.
