Default is 2 gigs of daul channel ddr2 better than..

First let me thank you for your input.

2 gigs of dual channel ddr2 better off then 4 gigs of single?

3 stick total one is a 2 gig stick

I am not completly sure, though i ran single channel 3GB on my old dell and it ran fine. lets wait to here more responses

You're basically comparing quantity versus speed. For any usage less than 2 gbs, the dual channel 2 gb will perform better. If your memory usage exceeds 2 gb, then the 4 gbs would be far faster since it's preventing a pagefile access from your hard drive.
