Default 7900gt 560/1720

I have a 7900GT with stock cooling, and at 560/1720. Seems stable and shows no artifacts. Idle 46-50, load 65-70. Do I have to volt mod this to go higher?(of course with an aftermarket fan). If i buy an aftermarket cooler, can i raise the clocks higher(stable) without vmodding it? Thanks.

O yea, never done a volt mod before, and don't want to.

I can easily get my 7600GT to 685 core on stock voltage... you shouldn't need a volt mod, just better cooling.

The 7600gt puts off much less heat, and it's stock voltage is 1.4v. That's the same voltage as the 7900gtx, which explains why you could achieve 685MHz. The 7900gt's stock voltage is 1.2v, so it won't be able to get anywhere near 685MHz without a vmod.

I have a 7950GT Evga @ 550/700 (550/1400) stock ..
I oc'ed it a bit to 560/840 and it was still stable .
I'm going to put a 120mm side case fan thats gonna basically hit the GPU since I'm not planning on modding things like that. is it possible to overmolt for any better things?
