Default Fan Voltage Regulator

Hi all,
Hi all, my question is:

I have 16 Fans in my Mozart Tx project

Is their a way to hook each 4 fans together and run 4 fans with the same speed on 1 speed changer from the

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2446

meaning each 4 fans is regulated by 1 speed regulator and since their are 4 regulators, 16 fans are regulated together.

How if this is possible can this be wired?

You can wire in 10 watt, 1 ohm wirewound resistors for each speed. Assumining you have a high speed fan that runs @ 3600 rpm on high speed, you can drop to a speed of 2800 rpm using one resistor in series with the load. This would be speed # 2, with speed # 1 being wired directly to 12 volts. Speed # 3 would have two of those resistors wired in series with the load, and would drop the rpms to about 1800. Each of these speeds would be wired to a switch with at least three positions. If you wanted to drop the fan speed even lower you could continue the above progression, but fan speed may be too low to suit you. You can pick up these resistors at Radio Shack.
