Default ram over voltage??

i oc my e6850 to 3.6 ghz.. by 8x 450 and using a ratio of 1:1 for my rams.. it wont boot so i up the voltage by .2 v to keep the cl to 4 4 4 12 is it dangerous for my rams?? i am using geil 4 4 4 12

2.4v is fine and recommended to run with those timings. Here is a link for all your specs related to that ram

you upped it bij .2 so you upped it from standart vdimm (1.8)? if so 2.0 may be a bit low, you should check the stabilty with memtest if you didn't do that yet.
