Default Lots of Mods

Im currently planning to do the following mods

1) X-Fi capacitor and op-amp mod
http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...will-void.html

2) Replace the R47 chokes on my Foxconn Mars with R70 chokes
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...t=foxconn+mars

3) Add tantalum capacitors in parallel with the cpu capacitors on my Mars
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/t275892.html

3) Foxconn Mars Vdroop mod
http://img214.imageshack.us/my.php?image=droophc6.jpg

4)8800GTS 512 vmem and vcore mod
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=168788

So..... I think ive got all the correct pieces that I need.

Op-amp:http://www.national.com/pf/LM/LM4562.html
(1kohm and 50kohm)Trimmers:http://www.rapidonline.com/productin...moduleno=65273
(330uf 2v) Tantalum capacitors:http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea...=495-1591-1-ND
(2200uf 16v) Black Gate capacitor: http://www.partsconnexion.com/catalo...ctrolytic.html

But I have a few questions before I start.
1) Where can I find the R70 chokes? I cant seem to find them anywhere!
2) Is that the correct trimmer that I should be using for the Vdroop/Vmem/Vcore mods
3) Where are some good places to get supplies? I know digikey is good but I have trouble navigating their site. And is there anywhere that would carry all of these things so I could just get it from one place?
4) Anything I should know before starting?

Thanks for the help everyone! And hopefully this can help other people too

EDIT: Sorry about the double posts. The first time I submitted the thread I didnt think it went through so I submitted it again. Mods, could you please delete the other thread with the same title?

Dezixn,

I personally think that modding/tweaking/overclocking is the second best part of having a computer (playing games being first)

I just love taking things apart, seeing how it works and making it better. Its awesome

i think its 30watts. Im not too sure on that though and its not at my house now to check for you.

What I do know is that I am sorely in need of an upgrade for my soldering iron. Because currently I just use my dad's piece of junk radioshack iron. The tip on my dad's iron is way to large for fine work like that, I dont know how i even pulled it off

Does anyone know the name/part number of the R70 chokes? Its pretty hard to find something when you the only name you know it by isnt even its correct name

Yea I've got a crappy 25 watt radio shack one which is probably the biggest cause of me killing my 7600GT (I was able to RMA it though ) trying to do a volt mod. 25 watts is not enough in my opinion now that I sort of know what I'm doing -- I just end up heating sensitive components up too much trying to get the solder to flow.

And I don't know how you did that either no matter the size of the tip-- skillz+DivineIntervention??

OH yea please when you do these mods-- could you post a little work log?
It'd be appreciated.

Did you notice how all the wires arent right next to each other, they are staggered. That helps alot when doing fine components on pcb pads, you just have to be careful when you cut the traces to expose them. Also I used mainly just flux instead of regular rosin-core/silver solder.

And I was planning on putting the mods into a Foxconn Mars thread that ill be starting up soon. Ill have some benchmarks/reviews/mods all in there. Except the X-fi card and the 8800GTS 512 ill probably just put in here or start a new thread.

wherever I decide to post it ill let you know, it might be a week or two until they are all done and up on ocn though

I use Jameco over digikey, who is usually more expensive. Both are very hard to navigate without a part number.
