Default 680i SE and Q6600!

Was wondering if someone could help me. As you can see from my sig rig, I have a 680i SE, AND a Q6600 (cannot pass 3GHz). I know at the time I wasn't thinking of a Quad but it kinda just came into my life and now I have this problem. I've been trying to find a mod to get this to OC the quad and I ran across this one.

http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/A1_R...ield/4756.html

I know I have the NF63-TR, but it's just a rebranded NF68 that wouldn't work with quads (as well as NF68-AR) and from what I read this same mod is possible on my board. Also works with the other "R" revisions.

I've never done any modding like this, but I'll do what it takes to get this sucker OC'able past what I have. Anyone have much experience doing this who can lend me some advice, or possibly have done this themselves?

Thanks

-Bonz™

Well... some complications happened and my board is no longer operational... looks like I need to pick up one for quad clocking. On that note, I am very broke and need some cash for this new board. Think I'm gonna go with the T1, but before then, would anyone like to buy an E6750??

Ive modded xboxes and such doesnt seem like to much to do. Looks like it would be a pretty quick mod also. If you do not have soldering skills i suggest you practice a bit or have your buddy do it if he is expierience. other than that usual risk seems to be involved. Bestof luck to you

Yea well my soldering skills are "so so" and these resistors are EXTREMELY tiny...

Amazing how you can bump one with the tip and then it comes off... You'd be amazed how hard it is to get one back on o.o

Learn from the mistakes I suppose...

So I guess I really don't know if this mod works for the NF63-TR now that it's ruined...

Cant you take it to an electronics repair shop and have them fix it for $30? I would give it a shot before you throw the board away.

I planned on (not throwing board away) seeing if I could get away with RMA'ing back to eVGA without them knowing. I mean the resistors are damn near microscopic and I wonder if they'll even take a look at them. Even if I can't get away with an RMA I am gonna get another board regardless due to OCing abilities with the quad.

Hate to be the "unethical" one around here but, does anyone think eVGA will notice 1 or 2 of those resistors missing? >.> I mean... they are very very tiny (about the size of a pin head)
