Default monitor voltage question

hi i have a dell 1704fpvt monitor
and like most things dell made its broken
i have narrowed it down to the power supply board
now i found this interesting article online about how a guy hooked the microcontroller board up to run off a pc psu
im strying to do that but the models are a bit different so the boards are not the same i have a bit more power pind on my board
just like that guy did i will probably solder the wires form the psu to the controller board but im having problems finding the documentation for the monitor controller board
heres whats printed on the controllerboard where the old psu pluggs in
+5v
+5v
+5v
gnd
gnd
gnd
audio det
audio en
bklt en
bklt adj

now as far as i can tell i connect 3 5v plugs form the psu to the 5v pins on the board and connect the gnd to gnd
now heres my question what do the bklt pins do?
the backlights plug in to the powersupply board directly so they do not run off the controller board what are these pins for? and do you guys think they should be connected or just left alone?

the audio pins do something for the audio controller thats optional on the board so in mot gona bother with them

thanks for any responses
