yes you are correct. Leads boiling point is 1749*C, however the Flux still isnt a good thing

This, from what I have heard, there will be absolutly no lead in the smoke, it is all from the flux. The lead doesn't get hot enough to go get into the air, it will be no worse for you than lead free solder. The flux isn't good for you, and is in both (usually?) so it's the same. You might as well use what actually works! Just don't be doing stuff like breaking the solder and making lead dust go into the air. That = Bad. I know someone that works with making radio active shields against lead, he drills in it and it get's all into the air and he does all kinds of other stuff, in a poorly ventilated area. There is nothing wrong with him, and he's been doing it for years, I do recommend you use a mask though, you might not be as lucky. Main side affect = Memory loss
