Default Software mod 8800gt to 1.5v

apparently, it is possible to software mod a 8800gt with nvflash and a nbitor modified bios to 1.5v, or any voltage really.

but what do you guys think is the software limit without physical modifications?

I have a very good cooler so heat shouldn't get a problem.

No. You can only choose from pre-determined voltages, with the only other higher voltage being 1.1V. So you can software volt-mod an 8800GT to 1.1V by editing and re-flashing the card's BIOS, but anything more and you will need a hard volt-mod.

I hope you plan on running that thing on water if you want to go to 1.5V.

As far as I'm concerned... Nuff' said right there.

i thought it was 1.15v or is that just for the g92 88gts?

either way 1.5v would kill it unless it was under sub zero cooling

no theres a limit to increase the Maximum voltage you can edit on your bios in Nbitor, it's an advanced option.

yall think there will be hardware limitations?

The limit is 1.1 volts, plain and simple.

If you want higher, the standard physical volt mod for standard g92's are pretty easy.

Link? Screenie? Because when I had my 8800GT's, I did the software volt mod using Nibitor/NVflash, and there were no options to over-ride any voltage settings. You can choose from a pull-down list which voltage you want to use, but the only one higher than stock is 1.1V. You will need a hard volt-mod to do ANYTHING higher than that.

c00lkatz is correct...dieanotherday is wrong...

1.15v for most all G92's is max, only exceptions would be a GTX as they have more power phases and subsequently allow 1.2-1.24v at stock. Hard mod will be needed for sure, and 1.5v will be impossible without OCP mod as well.
