I dont see any other thread that relates to the title so here's my question.
What type/ohm reistor is needed for led's/other stuff to get them down to a 12V dc?

It depends on what leds you have, you could get 12v ones and use a spare molex

i mean what resistor would i need to attatch to the led to run it off the 12vdc molex's

You need to use Ohm's Law. R=V/I Resistance=Voltage/Current. A basic LED usually runs around 35mA. So in this example, you would do R=12/.035 and it would give you 342.8 ohms. The closest standard value resistor would be either 330 or 390. The safest bet is to use a resistor higher than you require, because you can't burn out a component with too little current. Also, you have to worry about power rating. In this case, you should probably use a 1/2 watt resistor. (Power=V*I=12*0.035=0.42W) If you were to use a 1/4 or 1/8 watt resistor, it would get really, really hot.
