Default Heres a way to up the voltage on almost any Nvidia Card

The Following information that is provided is ment to be used at YOUR OWN RISK.Its always wise to have a backup floppy that can blindly bios flash for you.If you guys wants me to I will explain how to do it later. Also its wise to have an old pci gfx as a backup so you can fix any mistakes with your better card.I am not responsable for any damage, nor is overclock.net.If you guys have any questions further regarding this topic plz post, email me,or pm me.

Ok guys heres a way to up the voltage on any nvidia card, except the old tnt and tnt2.All you have to do is bios flash and do some simple clicks.I did it with my 6600 gs.NOw you will need two tools, nvflash and Nibitor.Extract both programs from the zip folders they are in and copy nvflash's files to a bootable floppy, copy all the files but you can exclude the txt files. Now make sure you have your computer set to boot from floppy, once booted do nvflash -b oldbios.rom(or any name you prefer). This will make a backup of your bios. Now reboot and go into windows.Use nibitor to edit your bios. Now this is where i need pics.At first it only allows you to select "safe" voltages that are basically company stock. To fix this go to tools and click Voltage Table Editor. At the bootom it will have a list of voltages with a VID number for me i set the one that was 1.4 to 1.5.Now once done this you can go back to the voltages tab in the main screen.NOw you are able to slect and use the voltage you selected not to long ago.OK well since that is done you can save your bios to the same floppy with a different name such as newbios.rom.Now reboot you computer and boot with the floppy,do the command nvflash newbios.rom and tada your done. Also be reminded that while you are editing your bios you can change the default clock speeds with the bios editing.

I've done it too on my 6800LE. Went from 1.1V to 1.4 and could overclock up to 420 before it got overheating. And before it was 380 before artifacts.

that only works on the up to around the 6800gt or so doesnt work on the 7800gt and up (ive tried this) itll go as 1.5 in the bios but when measured witha multimeter (this is why i know it doesnt work) it still measured the stock voltage

Um there is alot of folks here that have bios modded their 7800gt's and it worked. I modded mine and could achieve higher core clocks after the flash. So seems to me it worked.

Well after doing it myself and measuring the voltages with multimeter and getting the same voltages i trust the voltmeter over other pppls sayings. I also got a lil higher clock but thats not the point the point is it didnt change the voltage measure yourself and youll see

What about the 7800GS? I know it has a voltage regulator on the card but will a BIOS flash make it more stable at higher clock speeds? I get artifacts in ATItool even though the temps are great (~50C load).

Who knows but one thing bout nvidia cards is that not all fo them are the same....Like say the 7800 gs or whatever, all in all its the same but u have agp,pci X,Also different vendors like evga xfx blah blah have different things done unto them which may (or may not) change them.I know i can push the card volts with this bios flashing, just havent felt like asking my friend since it is still techniquely his
