What I ended up doing because the house gets so warm in the summer was....

I bought a wireless card for the desktop. And moved the computer with the GTX285 into the bathroom and blocked the heating vent on the floor. The exhaust from the back of the computer goes directly outside through the screen in the window. That bathrom is actually the coolest room in the house. It's the only way I could keep my ambients down

I have the clocks listed in my sig as default upon start-up and I manually raise them to where I have had them. I then set the clocks back to where they were, went downstairs, and when I came back up it had crashed again.

People say that the shaders are really sensitive to heat, even though 48°C isn't a lot, it might make my card unstable? I really don't know, it might just be that it's not stable period and after a few days of running at this speed it's taking a toll on the card?

It seems that after today I'm going to get passed up by everyone else who has a gtx 260. I only had a 3k point lead. I'll be lucky if I hit 5k today

dude I think Staford was down so I would not sweat it unless we get a point dump at 12pm 5-6 was max for today

I didn't bother to look at anyone else stats but I just saw yours and I'm relieved. I guess one lost wu is not too bad, it was a 353 too, so I only lost about an hours worth of work and 353 pts.

Regardless, tonight is going to be a bad night. The AC is confirmed to not be working and now I have to sleep with the window open. Lucky for me, my room faces the street and I get to hear the cars driving by I'm also going to have to run at lower clocks until I get the ac working again

I got my AC fixed, it seems to have been something so simple as a dirty filter. The filter was extremely dirty and may have caused the compressor to shut off. After not running it all night, it started right up this morning. The tube immediately got cold where as last night it was ambient temperature.

This means that my clocks can go back up

It seems like somebody is back to full speed. That 285 is really putting up some points. I like how you started off slow to give the other teams some hope The strange thing is that I'm second place in the competition even though there are a few people with better cards then me.

I was actually thinking about buying a 285, but then it'd be no fun. The competition would be too easy. I really wanted to see what a 285 is capable of because you know it'd be under water as soon as I get it. I also don't have the cash to upgrade. It'd be a little over $200 for me to make the switch.
