Hey all
I'm very annoyed at eVGA lately, my problem is solved by choosing not to step-up. The reason why:I bought a single 7600GT as I needed a new graphics card fast, with the intention of stepping-up (paying the difference to get a better card) to a 7900GT, but this was a bad decision. I recieved the product, all was good and well, I registered my serial number on their website, then took a look at the step-up options. I was very shocked to find that the cheapest 7900GT available on their step-up site (directly from them) was €379, which is rougly £260. The prices are in Euro supposedly because the office where the cards are shipped from is in Germany. Plus there's a €12 shipping fee, which is around £8. So that's £268 for a 7900GT CO. Yes, a CO. Now, stop me if I'm wrong, but can't you pick up a high-end superclocked 7900GT for £250? Such as eVGA's Signature Series? I've decided now to just purchase another 7600GT - doesn't work out cheaper but performs better than the 7900GT......I ain't gonna give them the satisfaction of knowing they ripped me off. So just a word of warning, if you live in Europe, it's worth waiting and saving up a bit more for the card you want, instead of intending to step-up like I did. You will save yourself alot of money. I have attached an image of the ridiculous prices. Don't fall into the step-up trap! BTW: USA users will be fine - seems like Europeans getting ripped off

Actually on Overclockers UK the eVGA 7900GT KO (560MHz) is about 375 Euro or 256 GBP so the Signature Series (600MHz) would be much more.
but yeah you all do get screwed on prices a comparable 7900GT is only 160 - 170 GBP and sometimes less here in the States

The prices shown there are before the deduction of price from your own card. Mine said 500 dollars, then i put in 460 dollars for the old card, and it was like "hey man, 50 dollars shipped yo".

I tried it and they didn't update.

Sometimes the Step Up is a great deal, sometimes it's not. Thew best deals were people that bought like a 7800GTX and then got to step up to a 7900GTX for free.
eVGA does not drop their prices, so the sooner you Step Up, the better deal you get.

Well, it works out alot cheaper at the moment to upgrade to a 7600GT. With the new 8-series cards just around the corner, no point me forking out a boatload to pay for a card that will be obsolete in a years time.

Its pretty much the same deal for us in the states. I got an EVGA CO Superclocked 6800GS (PCI-E) a day before the 7600GT came out. Even though the 7600GT is a functionally faster card, the 6800GS has higher bandwidth. I thought about stepping "up" but it wasnt a good idea. I paid around $190 for my card brand new, and on EVGA's site, my card was quoted at like $280! Basically I had to put in what i paid (showing proof with an invoice) and then I would get that amount back, so I would have ended up paying another 60 bucks for a card just a little better than mine, that was technically worth less.
I emailed EVGA to see if they would even allow that "step up" because it was technically a step down according to their site...they didnt respond. Step up is a rip off unless you were dumb enough to pay their MSRP for their cards. Then, and only then, would it be a decent deal.
