http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130080 And http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814241056 And one question. Does my Mobo support the ATI chipset? |

"I was faced with that very question myself... But I went with nVIDIA, I'm not sure why, but I hope I went with the right choice (besides I've always wanted SLI).".

Yes your motherboard could use ATI cards but it can't use them in Crossfire. If I was given the choice, I would get the 2900XT if the extra cost of it wasn't an issue. It seems to be getting better with each new driver release and it is a pretty nice card. That said, you can't go wrong with either card. Just make sure you have the 8pin connector for the 2900XT if you plan on OCing the card much.

Well if you don't OC then i'm not sure which one to pick. It wouldn't exactly matter TBH
But if you OC then the 2900XT is the better choice. Even if you don't OC i would still choose the 2900XT because it is slightly more powerful.

2900xt for sure. They're really isn't much of a comparison now that the drivers have matured for the ATIs. BTW....not sure why you think this:

Get the 8800.
Any PCIe video card will work with any motherboard with a PCIe slot. You're thinking of SLI/Crossfire for two video cards, which must be specifically supported by the board. Your board has SLI which is for two nVidia cards, but if you only plan on getting one card, then it doesn't matter. ![]()

I didn't even see that you have a 680i mobo......in that case, I would evaluate your plans for dual GPU. If you are considering it, then don't get the ATI. However, I haven't been a big fan of dual GPU after running it myself......my favorite games didn't support it, and even had worse performance at time (BF2142)
