He probably OCed it higher than you. What did you OC your card to for 3dmark? I was able to make a run at 870 (or maybe 860...dunno), but it wasn't stable for 24/7 gaming, which is all I care about. I started with 3dmark, but once I find out it's not stable in gaming I abandon that OC. I don't care about 3dmark other than finding the baseline performance.

If I go higher than this memory speed, I get lower frames, really weird.
If I higher the core speed, it freezes. So that sucks. But I can run the mem speed over 1020...only the problem is I get lower FPS.

Yes I have not tried playing and I must go to sleep now. Hopefully games will be stable as well. But in any case, even if I'll have to scale back (which I hope I will not have to), this is more then I was hoping for.

Thanks for the info. I think it might get lower because timings get auto adjusted by the video card. I read it somewhere. I also copied (probably from extreme systems) some text that when going over 999 memory, performance might drop (again next range of timings kicks in).

I will try lower memory speed to see if it will make the system even faster.

Although i have an 8800GTX and i like Nvidia more. I have to hand it to ATI with their 2900 series.

They have produced a card which falls just short of a GTX but performs better than a GTS 640 but they crush nvidia with their pricing!

Yea, watch the speed and especially temps, what is your temps btw?

I can't go over 963 mem speed, otherwise I get lower FPS. I don't now how far you can go tho. Just try I used AtiTool to measure FPS.

Hmm.. Interesting

I did not adjust my driver at all (I only changed the resolution after I installed it). I'll try to change it tomorrow. Maybe I'll just hit 12k
