I think I'm devoting my sunday to programming (sucky) and overclocking this beast (yay). What a great deal to be able to clock this up past an XT and get comparable 3dmark scores. I'm glad my impulse buy the day they hit newegg isn't turning out to be regrettable. I'm shooting for 12k this weekend!

here is the most I was able to squeeze out of my 8800gts 320 @648 core and 2100 mem

Mind you I would definately pick up some points If I could get to 3.6ghz

The difference in performance is not that high (in 3d mark) and unless some one is looking for a card to crossfire on a p35 mobo, It wouldnt be worth the money to upgrade from a 8800 gts card.

[IMG][/IMG]

edit: comparing the 2 scores It looks like you picked up most of your points over my score in the SM3.0 tests

And yes I do game on those settings on my vid card but clocked my cpu down to 3.2ghz for orthos stability

3DMark score is 11741. I think this is a great value. So if you are looking for a fast but inexpensive video card 2900 Pro is probably the best bet at the moment.
what voltages are you using right now? the highest I can get is 847/999 which gave me 12.5k. I was trying to push higher as I understand some can hit 900-1000 core mhz but I can't seem to get much higher.

I'm in Vista 64bit, and I am not sure if I can change voltages there (too restrictive). In XP I probably would've been well over 12k mark (just guessing).

I can't get 3dmark06 to load with my PRO. It just hangs at the "wait one minute please" screen.

When I turned it on, my video card did not work at all in the first boot (screen was empty even during the POST), but it worked just fine after I reset my PC (I had to use the reset button). Try to reboot (shut the power down completely and then start again) and see if it helps.

If you are not overclocking then the only other thing I can think of is power. Sorry for such a basic stuff, but did you connect all extra power cables to the video card(2 of them)?
