I purchased a 7600gt with my second build in december 2006. Shortly thereafter I began to have a few miscolored pixels, followed by misplaced polygons/textures. I found out my card was still under warranty mid september 2007 so I RMAed the malfunctioning card to newegg. Shortly thereafter I was notified that the 7600gt was discontinued and I would be refunded the original price I had paid for it. So i bought an 8600gts for the same price. Needless to say I was happy with the free upgrade

A few days ago I was cleaning out the case of my old rig and discovered an odd capacitor rolling around in the bottom. I looked around the mobo and found none to be missing. I suspect it was from my 7600gt and that this missing capacitor was causing the glitches. Funny in a way how I thought my old card had mysteriously gone bad.

well i did a step from 8800gts 320MB to 8800GT 512MB with evga

got a new card in box but was DOA, span just spinned and no video signal

I rma'd it, called them and told them what happened.......

they did a cross-ship (where they ship first) free of charge and it was overnight too- got a brand new 8800gt in box (usually RMA is refurb) and it came SC clocked out of the box

they also let me keep the free game that came with the original rma step-up that was DOA

I think he's wanting to know what model you sent and what model you got back.

EDIT: BTW...I'm currently in the process of RMA'ing my XFX 7900GS XT. I'll let you know what happens when I get the return.

Also...I sent in an Apevia PSU (don't know if you care or not) to newegg. I personally found it to be faulty caused random BSOD and such (and it had a fly in it...eww). Got the EXACT same model back but a newer version that has a PCIe connector. I was like WOOT! I can now use PCIe video cards that require power!!! Sadly enough...had to RMA the other PSU identical to it that I bought at the same time. Hoping I'll get the same one back.

Also...I sent in a used OCZ DDR500 1GB kit to OCZ. They felt bad for me I guess...so they sent me the newer version but 2GB instead of 1GB, and still DDR500. I thought that was pretty cool. Same problems though! Now I'm just roughing through with my RAM issues. I don't want to bug them again since they were so cool the first time.

i RMA'd my 3870 once already, they cross shipped with me, because the card i received was buzzing. the whole ordeal took 4 days from me complaining to me receiving a new card in the mail. you cant just fill out the rma request, that always takes longer. you need to call someone and complain :]

I'm liking the mild intrest in this thread, but i do want to ask that people post their RMA's in the following format so i dont have to decipher the details in your "experience"

Make
Model
Brand Name
Interface

Other things that would be helpful would be:

Did you use the stock cooling, or after market? Water cooling? Overclock the card?

I think the idea i'm going with this thread is so that people have a "place" to come and see how well the RMA process works for various Brands and models of cards...

Constructive criticism is always welcome!! Let me know what you think about this idea...

My X1900GT is still warrantied by Newegg and I notice Newegg doesn't have the X1900GT in stock. Is their a possibility I can get like a 8600GTS or a 2900 series card. BTW I brought around $130.
