Other things that would be helpful would be:

Did you use the stock cooling, or after market? Water cooling? Overclock the card?
Let us know what card you get back in about how long the RMA took...

I had top RMA my Sapphire 2900 Pro 512mb to newegg. They sent me a refund, lol. Not sure if this is even worth posting here, but ther ya go.

Also, I just sent back my EVGA 8800GTS (G92) to newegg fro RMA. Had it a day and it stop disoplaying. I will update what i get in return. (I expect the same card) I was going to try EVGA, but I dind't have qa chance to register the card and I think newegg will be faster.

Thats the whole idea of this thread. I want people to update this with whatever relevant info about their RMA process, so others can come here and have an idea what to expect...

It's worth posting. Now we know that newegg has been known to offer a refund instead of forcing people to get another card. At least once.

Maker: ATi
Brand: Sapphire
Card: 2900 XT 1 GB
Interface: PCI-E

used watercooling, put core up to 887 Mhz, memory unchanged. Only BIOS flash for core voltage increase.

Replacement: wanted to give me a 3850 1 GB, but i asked for a 3870x2, and they gave me one!!

Well, if newegg gives you a cash refund, the id assume that you could get whatever you want... :P

Thats cool that newegg gave you a 3870x2 for a 1gb2900xt... should give people an idea what to expect for their dead 2900xt cards....

No, i had to go through sapphire's own RMA process, (probably should have clarified). With sapphire, they will try to shaft you with a slight downgrade, the key is to ask for the most expensive card you can(within reason, of course), and hope...

newegg in canada?

In my case, they offered a refund as I didn't have much of a case asking for a 3870 when my 2900 Pro was only $169.99
