Thats strange, mine was a sapphire and they have no return system. The require you to go through the retailer. From their site:

RMA/Warranty

Sapphire VGA products carry a 2 year warranty with all enquires carried out through your initial place of purchase. This can only be carried out by the original purchaser Please contact your Dealer/Reseller for Warranty / RMA service. They will require proof of purchase which includes the original invoice/documentation.

I'd say you got very lucky.

Well, their policy sucks for sure. But if you go in knowing what they'll try, you can easily counter them and get an upgrade (if they don't have your exact card in stock).

Also, they do charge you for shipping AND to process the RMA. It cost me $35 + shipping to ontario (like $15) for the entire process. But you know... I'd pay $50 any day to upgrade from a 2900 to a 3870x2.

Copied and Pasted your format . Here's what I just got done with (card came back today):

Here is the info that i want:

* Maker of the card - Nvidia
* Brand name - XFX
* Model of the card - 7900GS XT
* Interface - PCIe

Suggested info in addition to the above, would be something like:

* Used the stock heatsink. Card was "brand new" when I bought it off someone on OCN. It artifacted like crazy upon installation.
* Just a VERY small 25MHz on core and memory overclock to boost my 3dmarks. I was just going suicidal, I knew I had to RMA it anyway .

Got the card back FINALLY after 2 months of going without. They sent me back an 8600GTS XXX Edition. Don't know if I'm trading it or my eVGA....but one of them is going for a trade. Figured I'd bump this thread with some good info .

Thats cool that you got a next gen card from your issues...

This is exactly the type of info that I'm looking for. I want to build a data base with a lot of peoples RMA discoveries, good or bad.

Anyone and everyone who has had to RMA their video card, please report your out comes like 'pioneerisloud' has just done...

Thanks!! And i bet there will be a ton of members that would appreciate this, after a some what large database is constructed and look at the patterns that will probably come up.

Something more i would like to add to the recommended info:

Date card was purchased.
Date the card failed.
Date the you filed the RMA.
Date you got the confirmation that the RMA went through.
Date you got the replacement card.

And again, the more info the better. I'm not sure yet how i will construct the database, but i am so going to throw my programming mentality and actually program a working database for this. With rows and columns... all the good stuff database design has to offer...

Ok, well to tell you the date stuff, I can't really comment as I've forgotten the dates. Here's what I do have though.

Date the card was purchased - Jan 1, 2008 (approx.)
Date the card failed - As soon as I put it in. The guy lied to me.
Date you filed the RMA - About a week after recieving the card. Tried to revive it, but it didn't work.
Date you got comformation - Heck I don't know what step that was, lol. XFX did it all online with me.
Date you got the replacement card - 1 month after waiting and not having a card.

I'll do it for mine too.

Date card was purchased. - Jan 4th, 2008 (can't remember exactly) recieved the 15th if i recall correctly
Date the card failed. - Jan 24, 2007
Date the you filed the RMA. - Feb 6, 2008
Date you got the confirmation that the RMA went through. - Feb 14, 2008
Date you got the replacement card. - Feb 21, 2008

I survived without the card for only 2 weeks.

EDIT:JoBlo69, do you think you could just link to the warranty policy pages instead of the "wall of text" approach? I think it would give the thread a nicer structure.

What card was it? Please refer to the first post, and answer those questions. I'm sure the OP would appreciate that . Glad you only had to go 2 weeks without. Jeez, I had to wait a freakin month, and they gave me a freakin mid range card back! Ticked me off, lol.

It's post #27.

I'm surprised actually. You had to deal with XFX, a company known to have a good warranty policy. And I dealt with Sapphire, a company know to have an awful warranty policy. Although if i were you, I would have gotten pretty pissed about recieving an 8600 GTS. So pissed in fact, that i would demand AT LEAST an 8800 GT in replacement .
