Pete, get the 8800GT. With the larger monitor, you will be much happier.

BTW, don't buy it from NCIX. It took them 7 days to ship my XFX 8800GT when they already had it in stock at the time I ordered.

The 8800 GT although is lower in clock speeds still performs better. Check out tomshardware. the 8800 GT even beats the GTX in some test. Check out the VGA chart!

Sorta off topic: Argh! Just found out, you can't force aa in Bioshock with an ATi card without having severe issues. This might be enough to make me switch to an 8800gt...

Btw the 3870 is yet to achieve the height of it's full capabilites, blame ATi's driver support for that.
