Question nVidia 7950 GT KO and Crysis

Hi all, I have a single 7950 GT KO PCIe card in my computer and I'm wondering what settings should this card be able to play in Crysis? I have a Athlon X2 4400+ 2GB 667MHz DDRII RAM, 320GB HD, Windows Vista Home Premium. I'm happy to play @ 1280x1024 even though my native is 1680x1050. I've tried Crysis before and was able to play @ 1024x768 with everything at medium except Physics.

That card will not handle it too well. I think you'll have much better luck at 1280 instead of 1680.

That card is a tad better than mine, I tend to run at 1024*768 all on LOW and get 35-40fps

Also, which set of drivers would be more efficient for my card? The 163 or the 169 Drivers?

169 drivers. You should be able to eke out mostly medium settings for Crysis at 12x10. The 7950GT was a kickass card back in the day though.

At 1024 x 768 with med settings. High "Ultra" settings on Texture, Game Effects, and Physics gives me 22-25 fps on my 7900gs. Can't wait until the ATI HD 4000 series comes out!

Yes, but I have a 4400+ and I haven't OC'd this card yet (and I'm not planning to) When I play with everything just on med. I usually get 18-21FPS I think my card might be dieing

Well I get around 20-25FPS with all Medium at 1440x900 res with my single 8600GTS. I would think a 7900 should be able to handle the same. Make sure you're running 64bit (if you're on a 64bit OS only though), and DX9.

I'll update my FPS when I put XP on my second partition. Just found out Vista makes games 10-15% slower =0 !!! 18*.10= 1.8 That is the difference between a slide-show and and game =P

Dude I had the EXACT same setup as you before. It's gonna suck, big time.
