I know the 9800x2's are faster, but I'm just not sure how much and even if they're faster, I know the SLI isn't as efficient.
Would you guys say sli 9800x2's or 3870x2's would win?
i would go with tri sli 9800gtx's over 3870x2's in crossfire it would only cost a little more and it would be much fast imo. not a expert so consider a lot of other opinions before spending all that cash. whatever you do for that cost youll have one monster rig soo good luck im sure it will work out well.

Quadfire 3870X2 will beat SLi 9800GTX.

Please do not get tri-sli 9800GTX. It's is a stupid configuration that eats power and doesn't scale.

either get the HD3870X2 config (dual X2's or X2 + single gpu card) or get something that will still max out 99% of games (8800GTS SLI) and another 2Gb of RAM and Vista x64 and whatever else will give you a performance boost as you already said you were getting a new cpu

go for 2 3870 X2 in crossfire. crossfire scales much better then SLi and you will see a good performance boost in gaming and a lot higher frames. tri sli will just be a waste of time and there aint going to be much difference from normal SLi not to mention that the power consumtion. go for a nice board like the DFI DK X38, Q6600 G0 stepping. Team Extreme RAM Dark Edition, Corsair 720W psu more then enough juice for the whole rig.

Sure enough you got alot of money to spend but still spend it wisely. casue at the end of the day you might still need a budwiser!

Yeah maybe not on your 19" panel. They will scale like mofos at 2560x1600.

And 9800GX2 SLI will beat two 3870x2's in any benchmark lol

What are you noobs smoking? Please get me some of it
