Question SLI in PCI?

I am not going to post any pictures that i just found, but looking at one of the new PCI cards coming out, the 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 DirectX10 cards, it says its SLI supported.

My question, is it possible in PCI?

I can't ask Albatron, because recently they haven't been updating their page with nothing. Its like nobody works in the office anymore or something.

How did I know?

NO IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SLI WITH THE PCI BUS.

The cards say this because they are native PCIe cards, and their native PCIe equivilants ARE SLI capable. But the PCI bus is NOT capable of handling even one of those cards properly...let alone two in SLI.

That's like saying, well I've got 5 PCI slots, so I'll go Penta-SLI!!!! It just doesn't work that way.

Do you have any link to this PCI 8600GT? I'm sure the card exists, but I'd like to see the site that claims it has SLI.

Who knows, maybe nVidia is taking a lesson from 3dfx(I think) when they had cards in SLI waaaaaaayback in the day.

No, that's not the case . Albatron is a no name company nobody except Still Legendary has ever really heard of. All they are doing is taking a PCIe card and converting its slot that it uses. Hence why it claims its SLI capable. I had an AGP 7600GS that claimed it was SLI capable. Again...PCIe card converted into a different slot...nothing more, nothing less.

Except in this case its a MASSIVE waste of money since the PCI bus CANNOT AND WILLNOT be able to handle enough bandwidth for the card.

Correction...he needs to stop trolling the forum . We've ALL told him that he needs to upgrade and listed MANY reasons why. He won't listen unless you agree with him.

BTW...@ Still Legendary.

Why don't you just buy two of those cards and prove us wrong then? Or hell...buy three of them and go tri-SLI with them, and prove us all wrong .
