Hey guys,
__________________Now that newegg is offering the GTX 280 for $460, should I go for that over 2x4870 for $600? When it's all said and done (since I will be water cooling), the GTX 280 will save me about $120-$150 over two 4870's (since I will only have to buy one water block). EDIT: I will be building a new rig, so pay no attention to my sig specs. EDIT: I will be using a 22" monitor most likely, but going with the 280 may save me enough $$ to get a 24". What do you guys think?

I've already played the waiting game waiting for the 200 series and 4000 series and I really need to upgrade from my 7800.

Two 4870s will out-perform a single GTX280, but you'll need a crossfire board, and maybe a new power supply too, if I was you, I'd go for the GTX280...plus I would hate dealing with multi-GPU setups, there are always problems.

I'll edit my original post - I'm building a completely new rig, so my specs are irrelevant right now.
