PCIe-x1 = 250MB/s, today's PCI = 266MB/s. So it'll run at PCIe-x1 (minus a bit of overhead) just fine I bet. Well, yeah I guess older PCIs are slower, so it really depends. Sucks either way though.

I mean, that x16 to x1 adapter might be useful for someone with SLI who wants dual monitors but doesn't have another x16 slot. I'd sure buy it instead of that $100 ATI x1 card, that's for sure.

That PCI to PCIe one though....if it was cheaper (maybe $20 ish) it might be useful for a technician (who can't always depend that a customer has a PCIe slot) but other than that I really don't see the use.

You better stop playing around like that, because when i glance at the card and read pci, and then you said " Your dreams have come ", i was about to run through my house and jump for joy and start calling folks. You lost some cool points sir

Really? Last time i checked nobody on earth was stupid. Yea some people are foolish, and they do foolish things, but nobody is stupid. And if you think i am stupid for buying pci cards, i am not because i did make it very clear that this time i will have time to take the cards back or card back. So really i won't be wasting any money, because i will be testing both out. Thats not wasting money, thats being smart.

I don't buy those sort of products online. Infact, i do most of my shopping offline at stores, that way if i need to take something back, i can just drive back to the store in a few mins and there you go. I do shop online for stuff(at newegg, amazon.com, estarland, etc), but i don't do it alot, for " privacy " reasons.

Its not a worthless computer, maybe to you, but to me its not. I play games on it, use the internet , listen to music, and have fun. If this computer was worthless, i wouldn't be able to do anything on it. You sir need to understand whats more important in life, because clearly you do not have a clue to what is.....Thats the problem with people now, as soon as " The people of this world " see th latest sh**, they jump at it. You people have alot to learn about the material things in this world......My computer is worthless, but its been working perfectly since 2000, oh yea its worthless alright.

And btw, why would someone banned me for enjoying PCI cards?
There are alot of people who use pci for gaming, people use what they want, or what they can, and i for one, don't put them down for doing it.

So please, if you don't like what i keep buying, well don't bother replying to my post. Its really that simple man......

Not only can you convert a PCI slot into a PCIe one, but you can convert that same PCIe slot BACK into PCI!!!

For real though, there's no reason for anyone to take it personally, its his money.

I for one am actually enjoying seeing what he does with PCI cards. Just in case one day I have a customer with a use for a [more] powerful one, I'll know EXACTLY what to suggest and I wouldn't have paid a penny to find out. After all, PCI cards don't scale like AGP/PCIe cards. The limited bandwidth becomes more of a bottleneck as the GPU becomes more powerful, so you end up with a whole different list of "bang for the buck" cards.
