The 4870 performs between the 260 and 280. I see no reason to choose the 260 (Which is the same price) for the superior Radeon HD 4870.

Oddly enough the tables turned this time around. With AA and AF the ATI cards take the cake.
1920x1200  From the Tomshardware review of the 4870. 1680x1050  So far my 4870 has performed pretty much right inline with these results. I don't have a 260 to test myself but I think toms did a fine enough job. :-) I also definately recommend the x38/x48 chipset over the nvidia counterpart. The ONLY reason to get an anythingi is to run sli. The intel sets simply run better/cooler/OC better
