Default GTX 260 or 4870 at 1920x1200???

Ok first of all I need of one card being better. From the review I read the GTX 260 was slightly better by 1-2 FPS. Also I would be getting an ECGA card so if a new gen is released i could upgrade to it (*cough* 55nm *cough*)
So that is a plus for the GTX, It also has more video memory so this might help for higher resolutions. So fire away

The 4870 gives you more bang for buck. In the benchmarks I've seen (and there's alot of them), in some tests it even beats the GTX 280 at even higher resolutions than the one you're intending to use.

If it was me, I'd get the 4870 over the 260 any day. Much cheaper for pretty much on-par performance.

I was in the same boat as you about a week ago, and I went for the 4870. Let me just say I'm glad I did

Absolutely the 4870, the 4870 competes against the 280, not the 260.

Where did you get that review?

Here's the review: http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/14990/9

If that doesn't persuade anyone to buy a 4870 over 260 I don't know what will.

As the person above is selling, VisionTek is the best beand of 4870. Lifetime warranty is exactly why =] Good price above too.

GTX 260 all the way!

Crysis
UT3
These dont really matter but, Vantage and 3dmark06
Now a big plus for the GTX 260 is for folding, and also the new video encoding that Nvidia is going to have for the GTX series, its supposed to convert and encode videos much faster then your CPU.
