Lightbulb The AGP Appreciation Club

The Accelerated Graphics Port Appreciation Club and Community

Welcome all and wide, this is the AGP Appreciation Club; a ultimate and undying homage to that slot on your motherboard, which with the 3850 AGP, certainly won't die! Having the latest technology doesn't always mean you are the best overclocker (although it does give a slight niche advantage) and an AGP is just as capable, and it catapaulted us into the 18th Century at 65c +
To join this club you must have:
  • An AGP Graphics Card
  • A Motherboard with an AGP slot
  • And some real dedication to a dying/dead port!
  • The AGP Card/Mobo as your sig rig, although i won't mind if you have another rig which is PCI-E

Below is a list of the PHP code, add this into your signature to show your support
PHP Code:

ATI and NVIDIA alike are welcome, aswell as any other ancient companies that made Video Cards. I promise not to be bias towards NVIDIA members as long as they have AGP!

When leaving your name, please also remember your country/place of origin and what video card and/or motherboard you have. Thanks!

I'm all for this! I hated having to buy a whole new mobo/ram/and cpu just to upgrade my graphics card.

I have one. Built it as a pure open source project. It's the "Scrapbox" on my list of rigs. Named so, well because it's made from scraps I found in the garage... old parts that I never threw away. And yes, it sees a lot of action; I use it mostly to test open source games and Linux kernels/modules.

nice to see a response guys, all your names have been added to officers and senior members.
Pibbz i know exactly what you mean, that is why i bought my 1650 512Mb, i didn't see the need to upgrade my whole mobo at that time, 478 didnt go with AGP, and when i upgraded to AM2 (regretting it after all this updating bios fuss) i got an MSI AGP mobo.

sorry fellas i had to upgrade, just could not take it any more.
my old system was a 478 northwood 3.4 with a 512 L2, a 7800gs
and a gig kingston ram.
it was just too slow with a ide 5200 rpm HD that had a 2mb cache.
the bottleneck was compleatly overloaded, every job took forever and a day.
i never knew witch was faster, my old pc trying to boot up or the MR coffee making a 10 cup pot.
