Default Video card for old AGP system?

Ok, so my brother has to play his games on this old P4 machine, and he wants to play BF2142 with me, problem is, the video card is a Radeon 9550 AGP. He just wants to upgrade the video card, and all it really has to do is play BF2142 and Medieval II Total War with OK graphics settings and 30 FPS. Here are the specs of the PC:

P4 2.8Ghz
2 GB DRR 333MHz RAM
300w PSU (18A on the 12v)

I'm thinking a video card upgrade could tide him over till he's ready to build his own computer like i have. So...any ideas on a card he could get? Under $100 would be best. Rep+ to all that help!

Just look through ebay. Geforce 6200 AGPs go for around $30 these days I think.

That's funny, i was looking at that exact card just a bit ago! I'm assuming it doesn't draw too much power...which is the main concern.

I'm thinking that'll play BF2142 on med/high at 1024x768, wouldn't you think?

Isn't that like...barely an upgrade from the 9550 that's in there right now?

QFT.

That 3650 should be ok with a 300w PSU, I was thinking on the 3850 might be a bit overpowered for that PSU though. Save a little more and get a 400W PSU along with it if you can, that should prove enough.

It looks around 20% faster?

You know what, you're right. My dumb self forgot about the rebranding that took place when they started the Radeon X series.

I'd look for a used 9800 Pro or X800, maybe a 6800GS or 7600GT.
