Default Noobie Advice please, AGP card upgrade....

please provide any advice...

dell dimension 8200
P4 @ 2.2mhz, 400FSB
just bumped up Ram to 2gigs..talk about overpriced
new 450 PSU
video controller AGP 4X


want to get new video card...
not much for games, needed for new monitor and photo editing
don`t mind spending a couple bucks


thanks ahead of time for any assistance...

The problem with buying an agp card (if you can still find one) is they are overpriced and not really in production any more. Same with your DDR ram upgrade, it costs so much. ATI released a 3850 agp card i believe but it was close to $200 which is insane imo.

Default thanks, but I think I have no option but to buy a AGP card

one think I noticed is my video controller says AGP 4X, do I have a option of putting in a AGP 8X ?

ATI 2600 Pro. ATI HD 3850 (Best AGP card on the market), ATI 2900, nVidia 7600GT (still expensive as hell but the best AGP card that nVidia offers)

open to suggestions but I think I jammed myself up pretty good when I bought that overpriced RAM and a new PSU to fit my dell 8200, to late start over now ?

Save yourself the headaches and start over, do a complete rebuild that way you can spend your money on products that are worth it. Maybe you can return that ram and psu?
