Default HD4850 overclock

Hi guys,

I just overclocked my Hd 4850's in crossfire using CCC. Standard GPU clock is 500mhz and standard memory clock is 750mhz. My overclock settings on both cards is now GPU clock 660 mhz and memory clock is 1130mhz. Performance wise its done nothing, on counterstrike source's fps test i score 1 more fps than standard and on 3d mark i went from 18389 to around 18600. Is this normal? I feel my cpu speed is what is holding me back. Any thoughts guys?

Thanks to anyone who responds

Bump your cpu up for a big gain.

CPU is holding you back for sure.

I don't think his CPU is holding him back at all. Its fine for the job.

However, overclocking your GPU doesn't always lead to mega high increases. I've only ever got an extra ~300 points from overclocking my GPU.

And you didn't overclock it that much to notice massive gains, 4850 stock clocks are 625/993. So if you bumped it to maybe 690-1.3 million MHz core and the mem to 1050(correction, your memory overclock is just fine ), and the cpu to 3.8 - then you would see some massive gains.
