on a 20" and + the 4850 can be 50% faster than the 8800GT (that is if you turn up settings on high)

I believe you can get the 8800gt and the 3870 for about the same price. I would spend the extra 40-50 dollars to get the 4850 though. If you ever decide to upgrade like me and get a second 4850 when pricing is even cheaper or the 4850x2 down the line, you will still be up to date for quiet some time.

Rebates aside, if you're going to crossfire 4850s, get a crossfire motherboard. Then I would save up and just grab the 4870x2 for $470 from BestBuy.
