Default Whats better, 4850 or 8800GT

Looking for a good budget card around the price range of the 4850 and 8800GT, so which is a better card?

From the reviews I have seen, the 4850 will out perform the 8800gt

The 4850 is the faster card by a good margin.

4850 is far better

Well it depends on what type of games you'll be playing.
The 4850 is indeed better than the 8800gt so I'd get that but if you don't play alot of games then the 8800gt or even the 9600gt is a good card for you

Ok guys. Been looking at some ATi cards, and I have a question. Some of the reviews are saying that the upgrade from the 3870 isn't that much to the 4000 series. Can anyone confirm this?

Here's the two cards I'm looking at:

HD 3870
HD 4850

Basically I want to know how much of a upgrade the 4850 is to the 3870. Thanks in advance.

4850 is much better then the 3870, 4850 beats a 9800gtx by a little

To give you an idea...

3870 < 9600GT < 8800GT < 8800GTS < 9800GTX < 4850

Or if you just want a rough statement... 2x as fast.
