If it is possible to fit your mobo w/ a core 2 i'd say go 3850 / new 80$ processor. But im not really sure which is better. Dual Core might help a bit more than a new graphics card but if ur mobo cant support it then that is your best bet. and to be honest i dont even know if the Intel 915GV supports DDR-800 lol.

Pentiums 4's are horrible compared to the Core 2 tbh. It'll do for now but take that out as soon as you can after you upgrade or you will be bottlenecking pretty hard.

damn you computer world where you have to upgrade every month! i think im going to wait until the prices drop a bit.....so far my cpu passes close to all required system require ments for alot of games! most likely because of the 2.8GHz.......c2d are just.......insane in my mind

And then save up another $300ish and go for a nice mobo/cpu purchase down the road.
That would give you a pretty nice gaming rig

Throw it in a nice case and you're sitting pretty
