Default What GPU would best suit me?

I run 1920x1080, and mainly play CoD4, Source games, STALKER(soon Clear Sky), Company of Heroes, and probably a few more higher end titles once I upgrade my GPU. I'd like to be able to run just about anything I throw at it (short of anything w/ "Crysis" in the title) maxed out w/ at least 4x aa and 16xaf.

I originally had my eyes set on a 4870x2 but even in the "if" scenario I have on getting money for an upgrade it's just too much. I'm looking @ maybe a 4870 which would be alot more reasonable price wise. Also if the 4850x2 comes out soon and isn't jacked the F up price wise, than that's what I'd probably look @...

If I were you I would get one 4870 for now, then save up the money for a second one over time.

That's wah I was sorta thinking. My 965p only has 1 pci-e 16 slot but I'm really eyeing a p45. Nahelem is around the corner but I won't be able to afford it, I know that much, lol.

Definitely a HD4870. Should be able to max any of those games out with plenty of AA.

i would agree with Norman and NrGx and say to go with one 4870 now and another one later, seems to be the best bet atm with GDDR5 and such... And don't worry, the drivers WILL get better, they always are a little buggy in the beginning.

Get the 4870 or wait for the new GTX260+ or the GTX 280+ to come out.

lol, I know. Those Intel IGPs are pure crap for "anything" 3d.

OK! well IF I can scrape up around 270 for a 4870 that's what I'm gonna get unless the GTX260+ is out soon and TONS cheaper than a GTX260...
